From time to time I will drop in maps from my novels or atlases and talk a little about what they represent and how I made them. Eye candy and knowledge, you can’t ask for more than that!
A map from my upcoming novel Silent Sorrow, this depicts a large city in which something nameless is loose. Its route is depicted by the circles and dates where it stops to kill and eat. But where is it headed?
The city is inspired by Istanbul in the sixteenth century. Like most of my maps it was drawn entirely in FreeHand (which is now an ancient and creaking program).
